Eudald Carbonell

Eudald Carbonell is a Catalan archaeologist, anthropologist and palaeontologist.

He holds a PhD in Geology of the Quaternary from Pierre and Marie Curie University (1986), and one in History from the University of Barcelona (1988). He is currently professor at the University of Rovira and Virgili in Tarragona, serves as co-director of the excavations at the Archaeological Site of Atapuerca. He has written several books.

His findings include the discovery of Homo antecessor and wellpreserved remains of Homo heidelbergensis.

He collaborates regularly in scientific journals, and has written several books, both for scientific and general readers.
