Elisa Calcagno is from Argentina and lives in Barcelona. Although she could have gone into designing buildings, she chose to create something less eternal but much sweeter: cakes and pastries.
She is one half of the soul of the Florentine Bake Shop. The other half is Sebastián.
Elisa inherited her love of cooking from her family and nourished it further at the École Lenôtre in Paris, the Barcelona Guild College of Confectionary and the Espai Sucre also in Barcelona.
A walk around Notting Hill inspired her dream to have a bakery where she could be happy and make others happy, and together with Sebastián that is what she did. Every morning, in the small bakery, they play with flour, vanilla, chocolate, fruit and multi-coloured sweets to make Florentine cakes and pastries.
